created a chart to assist consumers make sustainable choices when buying fish.

At Lihawu, we strive to bring our customers the freshest fish and seafood possible, while only serving fish in the green or orange groups of SASSI.





GREEN - These species exist in relatively healthy numbers. Large fishing companies do not target them and they are the most sustainable choice.

ORANGE - These species are in danger of being overfished
Bluefin Tuna Cape Salmon Kabeljou Kingklip

RED - It’s illegal to buy or sell these species in South Africa
