Welcome to The Lihawu Restaurant.

Lihawu is a shield made from cow skin. It was used by Regiments to protect themselves during times of war. Before going to war it was important for the regiments to eat and gain their strength, thus the enemy often attacked the food camps knowing that without food the
opposition would be weak leading to surrender.
Lihawu is seen as a protector and is also used in ceremonial celebrations.

Africa is change, ebb and flow.
From the time the first humans emerged from the cradle, its people have followed their nomadic instincts and spread across the vast open savannah of the Africa plains, creating diverse cultures.

Different tribes have gathered together, putting down roots, developing languages, traditions, cultures and arts, which have undoubtably
influenced the rich and ancient culinary habits of the African people.

This rich melting pot of cultures has inspired
us at Lihawu Restaurant to bring you,
our valued patrons,

Hilal Waziri, Chef de Cuisine, and his team
wish you an enjoyable dining experience
